General
This piece was commissioned by Sabika Jewelry Inc. Classical beauty has been a recurring theme in my works. Gabrielle Ray is a frequent muse and her demeanor here is well suited for the determination and ambition desired to be portrayed. A surrealistic Sabika custom jewel was painted along with the portrait.
Process
Over the course of a weekend this piece was completed. The free flowing portrait was finished in about 4 hours, using only 4 colors of MTN94. The red jewel required 45-50 hand cut layers of stencils with sporadic freehand sprays to achieve it’s realistic look.
